Open Access Policy

Journal of Engineering and Applied Technology (JEATech) is a fully open-access journal. All of its content is freely available to everyone, immediately on publication, without charge to readers or their institutions. The journal believes that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. This matters especially in engineering and applied technology, where research should reach teachers, students, policymakers, civil society, and citizens, not only academics.

In brief. Free to read · Immediate (no embargo) · CC BY-SA 4.0 licence · Authors keep copyright · No subscription or pay-per-view · Self-archiving of all versions allowed.

1. Definition

The journal follows the definition of open access in the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). Readers may:

  • read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles;
  • crawl them for indexing;
  • pass them as data to software;
  • use them for any other lawful purpose, including commercial use,

without financial, legal, or technical barriers, other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself. The only constraint is that authors must be given proper credit and their work must be cited correctly.

2. Licence

All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0): https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/.

Under this licence, anyone may:

  • share: copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format;
  • adapt: remix, transform, and build upon the material,

provided that:

  • attribution is given: the authors, the title, the journal, the DOI, and the licence are cited, with an indication of any changes made;
  • share-alike applies: any adapted material is distributed under the same licence.

The licence statement and DOI appear on the first page of every article and on its landing page. Third-party material reproduced in an article, such as figures or photographs, may be subject to other licences, as stated in the caption.

3. Copyright

  • Authors keep the copyright of their articles, without restrictions.
  • Authors grant the journal the right of first publication and the right to distribute the article under the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence.
  • Authors may enter into separate, non-exclusive arrangements for distributing the published version, for example by posting it in a repository or publishing it in a book, provided that the original publication in this journal is acknowledged.

4. Access and Fees

  • There are no subscription, registration, or pay-per-view charges for readers. Full texts are available on the journal website without login.
  • Open access publication is fully funded by the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta; authors pay no fees. See the Author Fees page.
  • There is no embargo. Articles are freely available from the moment they are published.

5. Self-Archiving and Sharing

  • Authors may deposit any version of their article in institutional or subject repositories, on personal websites, and on academic networks, at any time and without an embargo. This applies to the preprint, the accepted manuscript, and the published version. Details are given in the Archiving Policy.
  • Deposited versions should cite the original publication and link to its DOI (prefix 10.21831).

6. Machine Readability and Discoverability

  • Article metadata, including licence information, are openly available through the OJS OAI-PMH interface and through Crossref. This allows harvesting by indexing services and text-and-data mining.
  • The journal’s content is indexed in Google Scholar and Garuda, and is preserved through the PKP Preservation Network and LOCKSS.
