Authorship Criteria

Authorship Criteria

Humanika: Kajian Ilmiah Mata Kuliah Umum

Responsible authorship, transparent contributions.

Authorship reflects substantial scholarly contributions and responsibility for the integrity of a manuscript. Humanika: Kajian Ilmiah Mata Kuliah Umum requires all listed authors to meet the criteria below and to approve the final version of the manuscript.

01 Authorship eligibility

An individual qualifies for authorship by fulfilling all four requirements:

  • Making a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the work, data collection, analysis, interpretation, or development of its scholarly arguments.
  • Drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
  • Approving the final version to be submitted or published.
  • Accepting accountability for their contributions and cooperating in resolving questions concerning the accuracy or integrity of the work.

02 Author contributions

Authors must accurately describe their individual contributions. Where applicable, the journal encourages the use of the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT), including conceptualisation, methodology, investigation, data curation, formal analysis, writing – original draft, and writing – review and editing. Contribution statements must reflect the work actually performed.

03 Corresponding author

The corresponding author communicates with the editorial office and is responsible for confirming that all authors meet the authorship criteria, have approved the manuscript, agree to the author order, and consent to submission. The corresponding author must also communicate editorial decisions and revision requests to all co-authors.

04 Author order

The order of authors must be agreed upon by all authors and should reflect their scholarly contributions and relevant disciplinary conventions. Academic rank, institutional position, seniority, or funding alone does not justify authorship or determine author order.

05 Unacceptable authorship practices

  • Gift or honorary authorship: including individuals who have not made qualifying scholarly contributions.
  • Guest authorship: listing an individual primarily because of their reputation, position, or affiliation.
  • Ghost authorship: omitting individuals who have made qualifying contributions or concealing their involvement.
  • Misrepresented contributions: claiming contributions that were not actually made.

Suspected authorship misconduct will be assessed in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies and relevant COPE guidance.

06 Changes to authorship

Any request to add, remove, or reorder authors after submission must be made in writing to the editorial office, accompanied by a clear justification and agreement from all affected authors. The journal reserves the right to assess and approve or reject the request. Changes after publication are handled in accordance with applicable correction and publication ethics procedures.

07 Acknowledgements and AI tools

Individuals who contribute to the work but do not meet all authorship requirements may be acknowledged with their permission. Examples include technical assistance, language editing, and administrative support.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility for scholarly work. Any use of generative AI must be disclosed in accordance with the journal's applicable policies. Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the submitted manuscript.

08 Responsibilities and editorial action

All authors must ensure that authorship accurately reflects their contributions, that no qualifying contributor is improperly excluded, and that the final manuscript has been approved by all authors. The journal may request contribution statements or additional clarification when necessary.

Authorship disputes should first be addressed by the authors and their relevant institutions. Where a dispute cannot be resolved, the journal may refer the matter to the appropriate institution and suspend editorial processing until the issue is sufficiently clarified. Editorial action will follow the journal's publication ethics procedures.
