Journal Policy

Geo Media: Majalah Ilmiah dan Informasi Kegeografian applies the policies below to authors, reviewers, and editors. Please read them before submitting a manuscript.

Topic Policy
Publisher and frequency Published by the Department of Geography Education, Faculty of Social Sciences and Political Science, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, in collaboration with The Indonesian Geographers Society (IGI) and Indonesian Society of Professional Geography Educators (P3GI). Two issues per year, in May and November.
Article types and language Research paper, review paper, short communication, and commentary. Manuscripts are accepted in English only (effective 1 May 2026). See Types of Manuscript.
Submission Manuscripts are submitted through the online submission system (OJS) in Microsoft Word format, using the Manuscript Template. Manuscripts that do not follow the Author Guidelines are returned to the authors before review.
Originality Manuscripts must be original and must not be published elsewhere or under consideration by another journal. Manuscripts indicating plagiarism are rejected directly. See the Plagiarism Policy.
Peer review Single-blind review by at least two reviewers, with a final decision within 4 months. The editors make the final decision. See the Peer Review Process.
Fees No submission or review fee. An article publication charge (APC) is payable only after acceptance. See Author Fees.
Open access and copyright Content is open access under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication. See Open Access Policy and Copyright and Licensing.
Ethics and integrity The journal follows COPE guidance. See Publication Ethics, Authorship Policy, Generative AI Policy, Research Misconduct Policy, and Correction and Retraction.
