Abstract


Literacy and Research-Oriented Cooperative Problem-Based Learning atau yang dapat disingkat LIRACLE adalah sebuah model pembelajaran baru yang dikembangkan untuk pembelajaran pada perguruan tinggi. Dalam pengembangannya, LIRACLE digunakan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan literasi kimia, membiasakan berpikir ilmiah, dan mengembangkan keterampilan proses sains calon guru kimia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjabarkan penerapan model LIRACLE dalam kasus pencemaran air oleh logam Fe. Penjabaran tersebut meliputi pengamatan dari keterlaksanaan setiap sintaks dari LIRACLE. Kasus pencemaran air dipilih menjadi topik bahasan karena maraknya pencemaran air saat ini. Logam Fe dipilih karena logam Fe banyak terdapat di air dan mudahnya logam ini terdeteksi oleh instrumen Spektroskopi Serapan Atom (SSA). Jumlah sampel air yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diambil dari dua sumber yang berbeda. Konsep kimia yang dipelajari adalah adsorpsi yang teorinya telah dipelajari di mata kuliah “Dinamika Molekuler”. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah uraian kegiatan dalam setiap sintaks LIRACLE dalam kasus pencemaran air oleh logam Fe. Selain itu, proses adsorpsi yang dilakukan berhasil dengan persentase keefektifan adsorpsi pada sampel pertama sebesar 97,9% dan sampel kedua sebesar 96,9%. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pendahuluan dalam pengembangan model LIRACLE ke depannya.
