Abstract

Abstrak: Karakter disusun oleh tiga komponen yang saling memengaruhi, yaitu pengetahuan moral, perasaan moral, dan tindakan moral. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh karakteristik anak dan keluarga, iklim keluarga, dan keteladanan orang tua terhadap karakter remaja. Penelitian ini melibatkan seratus orang anak Sekolah Menengah Pertama di Desa Ciasihan dan Ciasmara, Kecamatan Pamijahan, Kabupaten Bogor yang dipilih menggunakan teknik proportional stratified random sampling. Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa anak yang memiliki pengetahuan moral, perasaan moral, tindakan moral, dan karakter yang rendah berasal dari keluarga dengan iklim keluarga dan keteladanan orang tua yang juga rendah. Anak perempuan memiliki karakter yang lebih baik dibanding anak laki-laki. Selain itu, ditemukan juga bahwa bahwa iklim keluarga memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap karakter remaja. Kata Kunci: iklim keluarga, keteladanan, pengetahuan moral, perasaan moral, tindakan moral THE INFLUENCE OF FAMILY ATMOSPHERE AND PARENTS' ROLE-MODELS ON THE CHARACTERS OF RURAL JUVENILES Abstract: Character is composed of three components which influence each other: moral knowledge, moral feeling, and moral action. This research aimed to describe the influence of characteritics of children and family, family atmosphere, the role-model of the parents on the rural juveniles' character. The research involved 100 junior high school students in the Villages of Ciasihan and Ciasmara, the District of Pamijahan, the Regency of Bogor selected using a proportional stratified random sampling technique. It was found from this research that the juveniles who had low moral knowledge, moral feeling, moral action, and character came from a family with a family atmosphere and parents' role model which were also low. Female juveniles had better character compared with that of the male juveniles. Besides, it was also found that family atmosphere had a positive influence on the juveniles' character.
