IMPLEMENTASI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER MELALUI PERKULIAHAN ETIKA DAN PROFESI KEGURUAN

Abstrak: Artikel ini membahas kajian dalam implementasi pendidikan karakter melalui perkuliahan etika dan profesi keguruan di Jurusan Pendidikan Sosiologi Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Hal ini dilatarbelakangi permasalahan tentang tantangan pendidikan di masa depan yang terletak pada usaha menyiapkan calon guru yang memiliki karakter sehingga dapat menjawab berbagai permasalahan zaman. Pendidikan guru di perguruan tinggi perlu menyiapkan calon guru berkarakter dengan mengintegrasikan pendidikan karakter. Perkuliahan etika dan profesi keguruan relevan dengan proses pendidikan karakter sebagai upaya implementasi nilai-nilai karakter bagi calon guru masa depan. Pembahasan menitikberatkan pada beberapa kajian, yakni (1) pendidikan karakter bagi calon guru; (2) pendidikan karakter melalui perkuliahan etika dan profesi keguruan; (3) menyu- sun pedoman perkuliahan etika dan profesi keguruan dengan mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai karakter; (4) metode perkuliahan inovatif mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai karakter; (5) evaluasi proses pendidikan karakter melalui teater hasil perkuliahan.

IMPLEMENTATION OF CHARACTER EDUCATION THROUGH STUDY OF ETHICS AND RELIGIOUS PROFESSIONS
Abstract: This article discusses the study in the implementation of character education through ethics courses and teacher profession in the Department of Sociology Education, Social Science Faculty, Yog- yakarta State University. The background is the challenges of education in the future that lies in the effort in preparing prospective teachers who have the character. It is answer various problems of the times. Teacher education in colleges needs to prepare prospective teachers of character by integrating character education. So ethics and teacher training courses are relevant to the character education pro- cess as an effort to implement character values for future teachers. The discussion focused on several studies, namely (1) character education for prospective teachers; (2) character education through ethics and teacher training classes; (3) preparing guidelines for ethics and teacher training by integra- ting character values; (4) innovative lecturing methods integrating values- character values; (5) evalua- tion of character education process through theater lectures.
