Abstract

In choosing to become a teacher and a professor, he (Ahmad Safii Maarif) opted for a simple life, which at the beginning was veri challenging for his wife and child. But he was happy and thankful for his family, his village, and his organizations, as well as the universities that contributed to his achievements and his joy (Wanandi, 2006:1)
