Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The manuscript has not been previously published and is not currently under consideration for publication in another journal.
  • The manuscript file is prepared in Word format.
  • The reference format must comply with the specified style and include URL and DOI links for all references used (if available).
  • The text adheres to the style and bibliography requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines. All illustrations, figures, and tables are placed appropriately within the text, not at the end.
  • Line numbers and page numbers must be added to the manuscript.
  • If supplementary files, including additional figures, are provided, they must be included in a separate file (in Word format).
  • Manuscript submission must follow the “Blind Review” format instructions, meaning no author names or institutional affiliations should appear in the main paper or the Similarity Report.
  • Research-based articles must comply with ethical approval requirements, evidenced by attaching an ethical clearance letter.
  • All files must be submitted online through the journal's website. Manuscripts sent via email, either to the editor or the journal office, will not be accepted and will be automatically disregarded.

Author Guidelines

General Requirements

Language: Submissions must be written in standard English, following American spelling.

Manuscript Types:

  • Research Articles: A maximum of 3,500 words (excluding abstract, references, tables, and figures).
  • Case Reports: A maximum of 3,500 words (excluding abstract, references, tables, and figures).
  • Review Articles: A maximum of 5,000 words (excluding abstract, references, tables, and figures).

References:

  • Research Articles and Case Reports: Maximum of 40 references.
  • Review Articles: Maximum of 70 references.
  • Use a reference manager (e.g., EndNote, Zotero, or Mendeley) to format citations and references.

Manuscript Preparation

Title Page

  • Title: Specific, concise, and clear. Avoid abbreviations unless widely understood (e.g., DNA). Font: Source Sans Pro, 18 pt, Bold, Left-aligned.
  • Authors: Include all authors' full names without titles. Use an asterisk (*) for the corresponding author. Font: Source Sans Pro, 12 pt, Bold, Left-aligned.
  • Affiliations and Correspondence: Include institutional affiliations and the corresponding author’s email address.

Abstract and Keywords

Abstract: Not exceeding 250 words. Follow structured formats for specific types:

  • Research Articles: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions.
  • Review Articles: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions for systematic and scoping review, unstructured for narrative review
  • Case Reports: Background, Case Presentation, Conclusion.

Keywords: Provide 3-7 keywords in alphabetical order, separated by semicolons.
Font: Source Sans Pro, 10 pt, Italic, Left-aligned.

Main Text

Follow the appropriate structure for each type of submission:

  • Research Articles: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions.
  • Review Articles: Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusions for systematic or scoping review, but can be modified as required for narrative review.
  • Case Reports: Introduction, Case Presentation, Discussion and Conclusions.

Figures, Tables, and Schemes

- Citation: Cite figures and tables in the text as "Figure 1" and "Table 1."
- Placement: Place figures and tables near their first citation.
- Format: Use bold font for labels. Captions should be centered and concise.

References

- Follow Vancouver style.
- Ensure all references include DOI links where available.
- Use a reference manager for formatting.

Acknowledgments

Recognize contributors not covered under authorship.

Ethics Statement

Include an ethical approval statement for studies involving humans or animals. If not applicable, state 'Not applicable.'

Submission Process

Templates: Authors must use the appropriate template for their manuscript type:

Submission Platform: Submit manuscripts online via the journal's website. Submissions sent via email will not be accepted.

Plagiarism Policy: Manuscripts must have a similarity index below 20% (checked via Turnitin).

Checklist Before Submission

  • The title page includes all the required information.
  • Abstract and keywords are prepared according to the guidelines
  • The main text follows the structure and word limits for the submission type
  • Figures and tables are correctly formatted and placed
  • References comply with the Vancouver style and include DOIs.
  • Ethical approval and supplementary materials (if applicable) are included.
