Abstract

The development of entrepreneurial skills for students at the Baitussalam Islamic Boarding School in Yogyakarta is still limited. This study aims to determine (1) the knowledge and entrepreneurial skills of students at the Baitussalam Islamic Boarding School in Yogyakarta before business training, (2) the implementation of cookie business training at the Baitussalam Islamic Boarding School in Yogyakarta, (3) the knowledge and entrepreneurial skills of students at the Baitussalam Islamic Boarding School in Yogyakarta after business training, and (4) changes in the knowledge and entrepreneurial skills of students at the Baitussalam Islamic Boarding School in Yogyakarta. The type of research used descriptive quantitative one group pretest-posttest. The population of the study was all students at the Baitussalam Islamic Boarding School in Yogyakarta totaling 63 students. The respondents of the study were 36 non-student students with a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used a knowledge test and an entrepreneurial skills observation sheet of 35 items that had been tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of the study showed: (1) the knowledge and entrepreneurial skills of students before the training were in the moderate category with a percentage of 66.7% and 61.1%, (2) the implementation of the cookie business training was carried out for 2 days with a lecture method using power point and practice making brown sugar nut cookies from mocaf flour and purple sweet potato, (3) the knowledge and entrepreneurial skills of students after the training were in the moderate category with a percentage of 75% and 88.9%, and (4) there were changes in the knowledge and entrepreneurial skills of students at the Baitussalam Islamic Boarding School in Yogyakarta based on the results of the paired sample t-test with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05 and the results of the Wilcoxon test with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05.
