This study employed a causal associative research design with a quantitative

employee performance. Data were collected using questionnaires distributed to 92
employees of the agency at Gunungkidul Regency as the research sample. Data
analysis techniques used included descriptive analysis, classical assumption tests
(normality test, linearity test, multicollinearity test, and heteroscedasticity test).
Hypothesis testing involved the simple regression analysis, multiple regression
analysis, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination.
The results of the study indicated that 1) Competence had a positive and
significant effect on employee performance with a significance value of 0.000 and
a calculated t value of 4.905. 2) Work motivation had a positive and significant
influence on employee performance with a significance value of 0.000 and a
calculated t value of 23.703. 3) Competence and work motivation affected
employee performance with a significance value of 0.000 and a calculated F of
