This study aimed to (1) examine the effect of self-efficacy on the work readiness of final-semester students in Yogyakarta, (2) examine the effect of exposure to TikTok on the work readiness of final-semester students in Yogyakarta, and (3) examine the effect of self-efficacy and exposure to TikTok on the work readiness of final-semester students in Yogyakarta.
This research utilized a quantitative method using a questionnaire. The study population was final-semester students in Yogyakarta, with a sample of 100 respondents using a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was a questionnaire using a 4-point Likert scale that had been tested for validity and reliability, then analyzed using multiple linear regression.
The research findings demonstrated that (1) self-efficacy had a positive and significant effect on student job readiness, (2) TikTok media exposure had a positive and significant effect on student job readiness, and (3) self-efficacy and TikTok media exposure simultaneously had a positive and significant effect on student job readiness in Yogyakarta. The results were significant (F = 40.2, p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination of 44.2% indicated the contribution of both independent variables to job readiness. These findings concluded that increasing self-efficacy and utilizing educational content on the TikTok platform could help strengthen student job readiness in their final year.
