About the Journal

Journal of Geographical Research: Geoeducasia, or Geoeducasia for short, is a Geography science journal published by the Department of Geography Education, Faculty of Social Sciences and Political Science, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta in collaboration with Indonesian Society of Professional Geography Educators/Perkumpulan Profesi Pendidik Geografi Indonesia (P3GI). This journal was founded in 2016 under the name GeoEducasia, then officially published in 2025 under Journal of Geographical Research: Geoeducasia (E-ISSN: 3110-1666).

This journal publishes peer-reviewed works across the spectrum, including basic theory and science and applied research relevant to geography and its teaching. In addition to research papers, this journal also publishes review papers and short articles in the form of comments or responses.

The scope of this journal includes all Geography and Geography Education themes:
- Physical Geography
- Human Geography
- Geographic Information Science
- Geography Teaching and Learning
Various topics related to these fields are relevant to this journal.

Journal of Geographical Research: Geoeducasia publishes four editions a year. The journal is published quarterly in January-March, April-June, July-September, and October-December. This journal provides opportunities for all scientists to publish their papers. Authors who intend to publish their papers in this journal should follow the journal's writing style.

Journal of Geographical Research: Geoeducasia (E-ISSN: 3110-1666) is a sister journal of Geo Media: Majalah Ilmiah dan Informasi Kegeografian (P-ISSN: 1412-5285, E-ISSN: 2622-0792)

Journal of Geographical Research: Geoeducasia articles are published open access under a CC BY license (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license). Open Access articles do not require a transfer of copyright as the copyright remains with the author.
