Focus and Scope

SOCIA: Jurnal Ilmu-Ilmu Sosial is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. The journal serves as a forum for disseminating scholarly research across the broad domain of social sciences, with a particular emphasis on interdisciplinary inquiry that bridges theoretical frameworks and empirical findings relevant to Indonesian and global social contexts.

The journal welcomes contributions from researchers, academics, professionals, and practitioners worldwide whose work engages critically and rigorously with social phenomena. We are especially interested in scholarship that crosses disciplinary boundaries and speaks to readers from a range of theoretical, methodological, and applied perspectives.

Focus

SOCIA is centered on the study of social life, social institutions, and social change — examined through the lens of the social sciences and social studies education. The journal prioritizes research that addresses pressing social questions and contributes to the advancement of knowledge in its core disciplines, whether through empirical investigation, theoretical development, or critical analysis of policy and practice.
