Evaluation of Mountain Tour Guide Training at the Indonesian Mountain Guide Association
Abstract
This study aims to determine the learning evaluation of mountain guide training at the Indonesian Mountain Guide Association. The evaluation focuses on the learning outcomes obtained by participants when participating in mountain guide training by comparing the results of the pre-test and post-test. Learning evaluation is the second stage of evaluation in the Kirkpatrick evaluation model. The approach in this study uses a qualitative approach. The technique in data collection uses interview techniques, observation and documentation. Data analysis is carried out through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and data conclusions. The results of the study showed that the increase in the competence of mountain tour guides was marked by an increase in the scores of 22 participants out of 30 participants with an average increase in the knowledge score of training participants of 10.27 from a pre-test score of 52.40 (D/less) to a post-test score of 62.67 (C/sufficient). However, several notes were found in the training evaluation, namely unstructured training modules, the ineffective role of instructors in managing learning activities and the lack of motivation and participation of training participants. This evaluation is expected to be a recommendation for the Indonesian Mountain Guide Association in organizing quality mountain tour guide training programs.
