Penelitian ini akan memfokuskan tentang potensi ekonomi dan bentuk kebijakan ekonomi yang diterapkan oleh pemerintahan NIT di Sulawesi Selatan dan perkembangan ekonomi di Sulawesi Selatan sebagai akibat dari kebijakan ekonomi yang ditempuh oleh pemerintahan NIT di Sulawesi Selatan. Tujuan penelitian adalah memberikan sumbangan pemikiran terhadap pengembangan potensi ekonomi di wilayah Sulawesi Selatan, khususnya dalam rangka menggali potensi lokal dalam menghadapi otonomi daerah.
