Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasis inkuiri terbimbing untuk meningkatkan KPS dan berpikir kritis

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui karakteristik perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasis inkuiri terbimbing; (2) menyusun perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada pokok bahasan kalor dan perpindahannya yang layak; (3) mengetahui keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasis inkuiri untuk meningkatkan KPS dan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas VII SMPN 2 Tanjung Jabung Timur. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan, yang terdiri dari 10 langkah yang diadaptasi dari model yang dikembangkan oleh Borg & Gall, tetapi penelitian ini hanya melaksanakan langkah satu sampai dengan tujuh. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji MANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukan sebagai berikut: (1) karakteristik perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berbasis inkuiri terbimbing untuk meningkatkan KPS dan berpikir kritis; (2) perangkat pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri terbimbing telah layak digunakan; (3) perangkat pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri terbimbing yang dikembangkan mampu meningkatkan KPS dan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas VII SMPN 2 Tanjug Jabung Timur.
Kata Kunci: perangkat pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri terbimbing, keterampilan proses sains (KPS), dan berpikir kritis.
Developing Guided Inquiry-Based Science Teaching Aids to Improve SPS and Critical Thinking
Abstract
This study aimed to: (1) reveal the characteristic of guided inquiry-based of teaching aids; (2) develop guided inquiry-based of teaching aids that appropriate for science instruction; (3) reveal the effectiveness of these teaching aids in improve science process skills (SPS) and critical thinking skills. This study used research and development model developed by Borg and Gall that consist of 10 step, but this research was conducted till 7 steps. The data analysis technique used was the MANOVA. The result of the study were as follows. First, the characteristic of science-teaching aids were guided inquiry-based to improve of science process skills and critical thinking skills. Second, the science-teaching aids were appropriate and valid to improve SPS and critical thinking skills of junior high school students; Third, these science-teaching aids could improve SPS and critical thinking skills of students at grade VII in Junior High School 2 of Tanjung Jabung Timur.
