Design of Pulse Induction Metal Detector For Metal Scanning In Food Integrated With Conveyor System

This research aims to develop a continuous metal detection
system for food to prevent metal contamination in food
consumed by the public and to determine the performance of
a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system for
controlling a metal detector conveyor. The method employed
involves designing a PLC system that integrates a pulse
induction metal detector, photosensor, and conveyor system.
Functional testing is conducted on each component,
followed by an overall performance test of the equipment.
The functional testing results indicate that the components
used can work properly and normally. The subsequent test is
a performance test, which shows that out of 50 food samples
tested, including meatballs, spring rolls, lumpia, cenil, and
other traditional snacks, the device successfully detected
metal in 25 of the food samples.
