Jurnal Kependidikan accommodates the ideas, thoughts, innovations, and inventions' dissemination in education for national and international researchers and practitioners
Jurnal Kependidikan accepts and publishes the educational research results focusing on learning innovations and its implication for the formal education, informal and nonformal education to all of educational levels. The journal involves the scopes of these research disciplines;

THE HISTORY OF JURNAL KEPENDIDIKAN
Jurnal Kependidikan: Penelitian Inovasi Pembelajaran aka Jurnal Kependidikan was initially published biannually (May & November) since 1975 and obtained its publication license in 1980, number 755 / P / SK / DITJEN PPG / STT / 1980, dated July 6, 1980, by name of JURNAL KEPENDIDIKAN IKIP YOGYAKARTA. Its early contents consisted of opinion articles, research results, and reviews. As of 1982, the journal gave priority to research-based articles; the name was then changed into JURNAL KEPENDIDIKAN (JK). This was chosen to reflect the contents that prioritized on results of educational research. The editorial team members of JK when it was first established were: Suyanto, Pujiati Suyata, Suryati Sidharto, Djohar, Sukamto, Suryanto, Sarbiran, and Sardjono.
In 1985, more varied articles from various universities were sent to the journal so that the focus of educational research was extended to non-educational fields, especially teaching materials that were taught at schools.
To enrich the readership with insights on a variety of research approaches and problems, since 1991, the journal's each edition inserted a special article focusing on research approaches and methodologies. Similarly, to improve the quality of the publications, since 1980, the guidelines of JK had been changed three times.
The Editorial Board meeting of 1995 decided that the journal would no longer accept non-educational research articles to be more focused and specific. In the following year, the non-educational research articles were eventually separated into JURNAL PENELITIAN IPTEKS DAN HUMANIORA (Now JURNAL PENELITIAN SAINTEK and JURNAL PENELITIAN HUMANIORA) published by Lembaga Penelitian IKIP YOGYAKARTA (now, the Institute for Research and Community Service). Then, since 2017 JK focuses more on articles related to learning innovation and does not accept non-empirical research articles (reviews) or opinio-based manuscripts so the scope is more specific and focused.
Jurnal Kependidikan: Penelitian Inovasi Pembelajaran formerly known as Jurnal IKIP Yogyakarta and Jurnal Kependidikan: Jurnal Ilmiah Penelitian Pendidikan, published in 1980 with the ISSN Number: 0125-992X. This journal has been accredited by DIKTI in 2001 and 2015 with Decree No. 118 / DIKTI / Kep / 2001 on May 9, 2001, and Number 12 / M / Kp / II / 2015 on February 11, 2015. The journal is published by the Institute of Research and Community Services, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta in collaboration with the Indonesian Education Research Society (MPPI) since 2012.
Then, since 2015 the journal has published articles in English to expand the journal audience and reach international readership. Since Vol 6, No 1 (2022), JK only accepts and publishes research-based articles in English.
Archiving
This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
