Plagiarism Policy
JURNAL PENDIDIKAN AKUNTANSI INDONESIA
Plagiarism Policy
Upholding originality and proper attribution in scholarly publishing.
Jurnal Pendidikan Akuntansi Indonesia (JPAI) requires all submitted manuscripts to be original and free from plagiarism. Authors are responsible for acknowledging the ideas, words, data, and other materials obtained from external sources through appropriate citation and quotation.
Authors should check their manuscripts using similarity-detection software before submission. Before publication, the editorial team will recheck the manuscript using Turnitin.
Similarity Screening
The journal’s similarity threshold is:
No more than 20%
The editorial team examines the matched passages and their sources. A similarity score is a screening indicator, not an automatic determination of plagiarism. A score within the threshold does not excuse unattributed copying or guarantee acceptance.
Note for Authors
JPAI assesses suspected plagiarism on a case-by-case basis, considering the nature and extent of the overlap and the adequacy of attribution. Concerns may be identified by editors, reviewers, or editorial staff at any stage before publication, including after acceptance, during editing, or at proof review.
When Revision Is Appropriate
The editor will notify the authors of identified problems and may request appropriate revision. Authors must rewrite passages in their own words, use quotation marks where required, and cite the original sources. Rewording alone does not remove the obligation to acknowledge a source.
When Plagiarism Is Substantial
Extensive or serious plagiarism may result in rejection of the manuscript. Where warranted by the evidence, the journal may notify the authors’ institution or employer. Decisions are based on editorial assessment of the material, rather than the similarity percentage alone.
Authors are strongly encouraged to examine their manuscripts carefully before submission. Similarity-detection software supports this process but cannot replace a careful review of originality and attribution.
Plagiarism Declaration
Every author submitting to JPAI is required to complete a plagiarism-free declaration and provide it with the manuscript through either of the following channels:
- Upload through OJS. Include the declaration as an additional file accompanying the manuscript submission in the Open Journal Systems platform.
- Send by email. Email the completed declaration to jpai@uny.ac.id.
