In line with fast modern life growth in this global era, public strongly demand higher quality of educational service by school. Schools are no longer enough by run only fundamental mission as routine, however the school manager (headmaster) have to own high progressiveness and creativity attitude in responding to the era growth for school existence and more than that to yield the excellent and competitive grad. On the other hand, educational autonomous policy (school autonomy) is demanding headmaster's ability of high adaptable and innovative creative idea, and strong entrepreneurship. The roles of headmaster as a main person who responsible in organizing education process at school are more complex and harder. At least, the headmaster has to be able to be as leader, educator, manager, supervisor, and innovator. Therefore, time has come for headmaster position to meant as professional occupation, in the meaning of, this occupation is only intended for chosen people and whom set up through certain designed and programmed of education and training. We need three pillars to build up professionalism of headmaster occupation. First pillar is the headmaster competency standard; a set of certain ability to execute fundamental duty of headmaster. The second one is the headmaster certification; competence examination process as headmaster ability acknowledgement in executing their duty which is carried out by institute who qualified to publish the certificate. The last pillar is the standard of headmaster recruitment mechanism; a procedures appointment of headmaster occupation which transparent, objective and fair, and put pressure on competence qualified.
