KEPIMPINAN MORAL PENGETUA PEMACU KEBERKESANAN SEKOLAH: SATU TINJAUAN AWAL
Abstract
There are many styles of head teacher's leadership, from trait style up to transformational style. Each style has its weaknesses to reject in relations with the environmental changes. This examination introducing a new style of head teacher educational leadership in Malaysia, i.e moral leadership. This research carried out af 6 schools, covered of 55 teachers as respondents giving their opinion about the implementation of moral leadership by their own head teacher. Data collected using research questionnaire are analysed using SPSS 13.0 version, including descriptive statistic techniques (such as means) and inferential one (such as t-test and ANOVA). The research results showed that there is not any significant differences among gender on head teacher's moral leadership actualization, but showed significant correlation between moral leadership actualization and head teacher's experience. This research has also found out that the main aspect of moral leadership actualization frequently performed by the head teachers is community development, followed by showing justice, honesty, and respecting and serving the school members. This research has found out also that the experienced head teachers more often \< actualize moral leadership than the new and nearly pension head teachers. For these reasons, it is better to positioning teacher to be head teacher based on their performance than their job status in education.
