AKTUALISASI NILAI-NILAI DASAR PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER GURU SMP DAN SMA DI KABUPATEN SLEMAN
Abstract
This research aims to determine (1). Measuring the teacher in actualizing the fundamental values of character education in schools through the educational process, (2) The basic values of character education actualizing by teacher through education in schools. (3) Why the basic values of character education need to be socialized in the educational process in schools. The research was conducted on 369 of junior and senior high school teachers in Sleman district which consist of 233 junior high school teachers (136 state junior high school teachers and 97 private junior high school teachers), and 136 senior high school teachers (95 state senior high school teachers and 41 private senior high school teachers). Sampling was conducted by cluster random sampling. This research was conducted with closed and open questionnaire method. Data analysis was performed with the percentage and qualitative analysis. The results showed (1) The actualization of character education in the form of a critical attitude, honesty, responsibility, discipline, compassion and sincerity that made by the junior and senior high school are in very high category. (2) The actualization of the basic values of character education in the educational process carried out by example or imitation, to give an example, admonish, notify, sanctions, and task. (3). The basic values of character education needs to be done by teacher habituation because these values ??are essential and necessary in human life, both for self-development, social and religious.
