Focus and Scope

Jurnal Ikadbudi : Jurnal Ilmiah Bahasa, Sastra, dan Budaya Daerah focuses on research and studies related to local languages, literature, and culture. This journal invites contributions from academics, researchers, and practitioners interested in the following areas:

1. Local Language: Research on local languages, including linguistic aspects, dialect variations, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and efforts for revitalization and preservation of local languages.
2. Local Literature: Studies on local literary works, both oral and written, including literary analysis, literary criticism, literary history, and the role of local literature in society.
3. Local Culture: Research on local culture covering customs, traditions, arts, beliefs, and cultural values developed within local communities.
4. Teaching and Education of Language, Literature, and Culture: Research on effective methods, strategies, and media for teaching local languages, literature, and culture at various educational levels.
5. Cultural Interaction and Change: Studies on cultural interaction, cultural change, and socio-cultural dynamics in local and global contexts.
6. Documentation and Preservation: Efforts in documentation, conservation, and preservation of endangered local languages, literature, and culture.

Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics for Jurnal Ikadbudi: Jurnal Ilmiah Bahasa, Sastra, dan Budaya Daerah

This publication ethics statement for Jurnal Ikadbudi: Jurnal Ilmiah Bahasa, Sastra, dan Budaya Daerah is based on the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). It outlines the ethical standards expected of all parties involved in the publication process: authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. This journal aims to ensure the integrity and quality of research related to local languages, literature, and culture.

Duties of Authors:

1. Originality and Plagiarism:

Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original and has not been published elsewhere. Plagiarism in any form constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

2. Multiple Submissions:

Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals constitutes unethical publishing behavior.

3. Acknowledgment of Sources:

Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have influenced their work.

4. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest:

All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.

5. Reporting Standards:

Authors should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper.

6. Significant Errors in Published Works:

When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, it is the author's obligation to promptly notify the journal's editor or publisher and cooperate to retract or correct the paper.

Duties of Reviewers:
1. Confidentiality:

Reviewers must treat the manuscript as a confidential document. It must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.

2. Acknowledgment of Sources:

Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument had been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation.

3. Standards of Objectivity:

Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

4. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest:

Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.

Duties of Editorial Board Members:
1. Contribution to Editorial Decisions:

Editorial board members should assist the editor in making editorial decisions and through the editorial communications with the author may also assist in improving the paper.

2. Confidentiality:

Editorial board members must ensure that information regarding manuscripts submitted by the authors is kept confidential.

3. Standards of Objectivity:

Editorial board members should evaluate manuscripts based on their academic merit, without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

Duties of Chief Editor:
1. Publication Decisions:

The chief editor is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. The decision should be based on the paper's importance, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal's scope.

2. Fair Play:

The chief editor must evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

3. Confidentiality:

The chief editor must ensure that information regarding manuscripts submitted by the authors is kept confidential.

4. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest:

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in the editor's own research without the express written consent of the author.
