Ethnomathematics journal was established in 2020 by Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, incorporated with Ethnomath Association. The first issue was published in March 2020, accepting papers in Bahasa Indonesia. With a stronger managerial board, the journal started to publish papers in English to gain wider readers and subscriptions. It publishes two issues in a year from 2021 until the present.
