About the Journal
POLTRANS: Journal of Politics and Social Transformation is an open-access, peer-reviewed academic journal that provides a platform for critical scholarship in the fields of political science and social transformation. Published by Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, the journal aims to advance theoretical and empirical knowledge on how political and social dynamics interact in shaping contemporary societies.
Focus and Scope
POLTRANS welcomes original research articles, theoretical papers, and critical reviews addressing a broad range of topics, including but not limited to: political theory and public policy; governance and democratic practices; political participation and civic engagement; power, authority, and institutional transformation; identity politics, social movements, and resistance; globalization, development, and social justice. The journal encourages interdisciplinary approaches and seeks to foster dialogue between scholars, practitioners, and policymakers committed to understanding political processes and promoting transformative social change.

POLTRANS is committed to the principles of open access. All content is freely available without charge to users or institutions. Readers are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles without prior permission from the publisher or the author, provided the original work is properly cited. The journal does not charge article processing or submission fees.

Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to POLTRANS undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Each submission is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise to ensure the quality, originality, and relevance of the content.
Archiving
POLTRANS is committed to the long-term preservation of its content. The journal is archived in the LOCKSS and CLOCKSS systems to ensure that its content remains accessible in the event of a catastrophic failure or shutdown of the website.
