DEVELOPING A DIGITAL GUIDEBOOK FOR NATURALLY CURLY HAIR CARE

Abstract

The research was conducted with the primary aim to (1) develop a digital guidebook for natural curly hair care, and (2) examine the feasibility of the digital guidebook for natural curly hair care.
This was research and development (R&D) uisng a 4D development model, namely (1) defining which included problem analysis and needs analysis, (2) designing which involved designing the digital guidebook concept, compiling the concept of the book's content framework, digital guidebook design, and moodboard validation, (3) developing which included writing and editing materials, creating visual designs, expert validation, and revisions based on suggestions and input from expert validators, and (4) disseminating which involved user trials to examine the usefulness of the product through dissemination.
The study findings covered (1) the results of the digital guidebook using the research and development (R&D) method with the 4D development model, including the defining stage of finding a way to care for natural curly hair in the form of video content, but the material was not yet complete and discussed in depth, and was not yet systematic. The research findings also included the designing stage with the final results of the material and moodboard of the digital guidebook, the development stage which included the final presentation of the developed digital guidebook and the results of the expert validation test of the digital guidebook, and the dissemination stage with the results of the user trial of the digital guidebook product; (2) the result of the examined feasibility of the Digital Guidebook for Natural Curly Hair Care by material experts was a score of 91.6% in the very feasible category, media experts gave a score of 85% in the very feasible category, and the product usability test yielded a score of 92% in the very feasible category. It can be concluded that the resulting product, namely the Digital Guidebook for Natural Curly Hair Care was very feasible to use and can provide benefits to its readers.
