Abstract

Biomonitoring is an organism monitoring activity aimed at obtaining baseline data on species occurrence and composition within a particular area. This study was conducted at Sato Loka Wildlife and Livestock Park, Kaliurang, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. Data were collected through direct observations of reptile species maintained within the conservation area, accompanied by measurements of environmental parameters including water temperature and pH. The results recorded a total of 24 reptile species consisting of 5 turtle species, 14 snake species, and 5 other reptile species, with a total of 83 individuals. Snakes represented the most diverse group in terms of species richness compared to other reptile groups. Environmental measurements showed a water temperature of 23.5°C and a pH value of 8.57. These findings provide an overview of the reptile species composition maintained at Sato Loka Wildlife and Livestock Park and may serve as baseline information for future animal management, conservation, and husbandry programs within the area.
