Author Guidelines

  1. Home Economic Journal publishes publishing research results, a forum for exchanging, developing and disseminating knowledge in the scope of vocational education in the fields of food, fashion and beauty for academics, researchers and practitioners. The manuscripts should be the original work either as a research or reference studies that have never been published in any form of publication.
  2. Manuscript accepted is written in standard English and written referring to the TEMPLATE [DOWNLOAD]
  3. The manuscript must be in *.doc or * .rtf, and sent to the journal system via online submission by creating an account in this Open Journal System (OJS) [click REGISTER if you have not had any account yet, or click LOG IN if you have already had an account].
  4. All Author(s)' names and identity(es) must be completely embedded in the form filled in by the corresponding author: email; affiliation; and each author's short biography (in the column of 'Bio Statement'). [if the manuscript is written by two or more authors, please click 'Add Author' in the 3rd step of 'ENTER METADATA' in the submission process and then enter each author's data.]
  5. The authors' biography (in the column of Bio Statement) is written in the form of narration, including the author's full name, place, and date of birth, educational qualification/information, the affiliation in which the author is currently working, phone number, and email address.

 

Structure of the manuscripts

  1. Title. The title should be clear and informative, and not more than 12 words.
  2. Author's names and institutions. The author's names should be accompanied by the author's institutions and email addresses, without any academic title. For a joint paper, one of the authors should be notified as the corresponding author.
  3. Abstract, keywords, and MRBM classification numbers. The abstract consists of 150-250 words written in a single paragraph. It should be clear, informative, descriptive, and provide a clear statement of the problem, the proposed approach or solution, and point out major findings and conclusions. The key words should be of 3 to 5 words or phrases. Please provide at least one Home Economics Journal classification number that suits your manuscript, which is available at http://www.aeaweb.org/jel/jel_class_system.php.
  4. Introduction. This section explains the background of the study, a review on the previous researches in the area, and aims of the manuscripts. Importantly it should also show the significance and novelty of the research.
  5. Methods. This section describes the appropriate tools of analysis along with the data and their sources.
  6. Results and Discussion. This section explains the results of the study. It should be presented clearly and concisely. Author(s) should explore the novelty or the contribution of the work to the economics literature.
  7. Conclusion. This section concludes and provides policy implications, if any, of the study. The conclusion(s) should be at the same order with ones discussed in the body of the manuscript.
  8. References. This section lists only the papers, books, or other types of publications referred to in the body of the manuscript. References should at least consist of 15 most pertinent and up-to-date sources60% of the references (at least 16 must be from reputable international journals published in less than 5 years. It is highly recommended that the references are written with the citation software & reference management application (Ex. Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, etc.)


 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
