Abstract

Kata Kunci: aktivitas belajar siswa, pendekatan CTL dan pendekatan pemecahan masalah, metode group to group, prestasi belajar siswa

Effectiveness of CTL Approach and PPM with GTG Method on Mathematics Teaching in Terms of Learning Activeness and Achievement of the Students

Abstract

This research aims to describe the effectiveness of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) Approach and Problem-Solving (PS) Approach with Group to Group (GG) method on mathematics teaching in terms of learning activeness and achievement of the students. This study used two experimental groups. The population includes all 8th grade students of MTs N Godean which consist of four classes. A sample of two classes, VIII A and VIII C was established randomly teaching. The instruments used to collect the data are a mathematics achievement test and questionnaire. The result of the research shows that the application of the CTL Approach and PS Approach with GG method on mathematics teaching is effective in terms of learning activeness and achievement in mathematics.

Keywords: student learning activity, contextual teaching and learning approach and problem-solving approach, group to group method, students’ achievement.
