The Correlation of Machining Theory Understanding and Shop Drawings Read Ability with the Results of Lathe Machining Practice

This study aims to determine the correlation of: (1) understanding of machining theory with the results of lathe machining practice; (2) the ability to read working drawings with the results of lathe machining practice; (3) understanding of machining theory and the ability to read working drawings with the results of lathe machining practice. This research is ex post facto research. The population in this study was all thirty-four students in the eleventh grade of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at State Vocational High School Two Depok. Data collection techniques use test methods and documentation. Data analysis techniques use descriptive statistical analysis and product moment correlation. The results showed that: (1) there was a positive correlation of machining theory understanding with the results of lathe machining practice r count > r table of 0,400 > 0,339; (2) there is a positive correlation of shop drawings read ability with the results of lathe machining practice r calculate > r table of 0,523 > 0,339; (3) There is a positive correlation of lathe theory understanding and shop drawings read ability with the results of lathe machining practice r calculate > r table of 0,400 > 0,339.
