The Ability of Grade XI Students of Machining Engineering of SMK Migas Cepu in Mastering 3D CAD Features of Autodesk Inventor

Abstract

Technological advances in the field of design require Mechanical Engineering students in Vocational High Schools to master Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of knowledge and understanding of Grade XI Students of Machining Engineering of SMK Migas Cepu to the 3D model features of Autodesk Inventor, especially the create and modify features. This research is a descriptive quantitative research, with the data collection method using a true/false intelligence test. The results of the study show that students' knowledge of the features in the create and modify panels is relatively low with the percentage in the create panel being 32.31% and the percentage in the modify panel being 27.69%, then students' understanding of the features in the panel create by 47.69% is in the medium category and the percentage on the modify panel is 41.54% in the high category.
