Development of 3D Printing E-Modules for 3D CAD Courses in the Department of Mechanical Engineering

Abstract

Technological advances can be utilized to develop the education sector, one of which is by creating innovations in the form of transforming modules into e-modules. This study aims to develop learning media in the form of 3D printing e-modules assisted by flip books for 3D CAD courses in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education, Yogyakarta State University and test its feasibility through validation by experts. The type of development research is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model consisting of 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research population was students, namely 4th semester students who were taking 3D CAD courses. The research sample was 40 people who were determined using the purposive sampling technique. The research instruments were potential observation sheets, validation sheets by expert validators of material, media, and practitioners, and student response questionnaire sheets regarding product feasibility. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics. The results of the study showed that the 3D printing e-module learning media assisted by flip books was valid and feasible to be developed and used.
