Organizational Commitment as a Key Predictor Influencing Public Sector Employees' Procrastination Behavior

This study aims to compare the influence of achievement motivation and organizational commitment as dominant factors in influencing procrastination behavior through psychological contract fulfillment. The method used in this study is a quantitative method and research data were collected using a survey strategy on 100 State Civil Apparatus in the Gunungkidul district government. Measurement of research variables uses indicators and instruments from previous studies. Data analysis techniques use Structural Equation Modeling with the help of AMOS software. The results of the study found that organizational commitment is a dominant factor that has a negative effect on procrastination behavior. Achievement motivation, organizational commitment, and psychological contract fulfillment have a negative effect on procrastination behavior. Organizational commitment has a positive effect on psychological contract fulfillment, but achievement motivation does not have a significant effect on psychological contract fulfillment. Psychological contract fulfillment does not mediate the effect of achievement motivation on procrastination behavior, but psychological contract fulfillment mediates the effect of organizational commitment on procrastination behavior.
