ANALYSIS OF THE ECOTOURISM POTENTIAL OF LEDOK SAMBI, KALIURANG, YOGYAKARTA: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES
Abstract
The Ledok Sambi ecotourism site in Sleman Regency is a unique attraction for tourists, primarily
due to its rural beauty, natural river, and educational and recreational activities. This study aims to
determine the potential of natural and social resources, the challenges of post-COVID-19 pandemic
management, and development strategies that can enhance its appeal. A descriptive qualitative approach
was used, with observations and interviews with 15 respondents, including tourism managers, visitors, local
communities, vendors, and stakeholders. The results indicate that Ledok Sambi management satisfies visitors
and that local community involvement actively supports tourism sustainability. These findings form the basis
for formulating a strategy for developing a leading ecotourism destination in Yogyakarta.
