Abstract

A PV system is a type of power generator that uses renewable energy to meet electricity needs. The electrical energy generated by solar panels is fluctuating, so monitoring is required to determine the performance of the PV system. However, the commonly used monitoring systems are still manual. This is inefficient as it requires a lot of time and the monitoring data is limited. Therefore, a monitoring system that can be monitored remotely and record the monitoring results is needed. The purpose of this final project is to performance of the device. The research stages include needs analysis, design, fabrication, and testing of the device. The result of this research is a smart home control and monitoring system using an off-grid PV system. The functional test results show that the average error value of the voltage sensor and current sensor is below 5%. The performance test results show that the smart home control system can turn the load on or off both remotely and manually. For the monitoring system, the average error value of the voltage in no-load conditions is 0.82%, and for the current is 0%. Meanwhile, under load conditions, the average error value of the voltage is 0.52%, and for the current is 1.96%. This control and monitoring system can function properly and display the monitoring data on the Blynk dashboard, which can be monitored remotely.
