New Editorial Policy on Similarity Index and AI-Assisted Writing

2026-07-15

To uphold the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics, all manuscripts submitted to Journal of Geographical Research: Geoeducasia undergo an initial editorial screening for text similarity and the appropriate use of artificial intelligence (AI).

Manuscripts must comply with the following requirements before proceeding to the peer-review process:

  • Similarity Index: A maximum of 30%.
  • AI-Assisted Writing: The use of AI tools must comply with the journal's publication ethics and should be limited to responsible language assistance (e.g., grammar improvement, language editing, or readability enhancement). Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, and integrity of all submitted content.

The Editorial Board may conduct additional assessments to evaluate the appropriate use of AI-assisted writing tools. Manuscripts found to contain excessive or inappropriate AI-generated content, or those that fail to comply with the journal's publication ethics, may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected at the discretion of the Editorial Board.

The Editorial Board reserves the right to make the final decision regarding manuscript eligibility based on the journal's ethical standards and editorial policies.
