Abstract
This study was aimed at evaluating the implementation of character education program at the university level, especially for the students. This study was categorized as evaluation research. This study was conducted at Yogyakarta State University (YSU) with the respondents of 129 students which was chosen using random sampling technique. The data were collected using questionnaire and analyzed using quantitative descriptive method. The results show that in general the implementation of character education at the university level had been going very well and had been successful as planned, although there were still things that needed to be improved in quality. Implementation of character values for students contained in the vision of YSU in general has been very successful. There are some achievements of character aspects that are not good. The successful implementation of character education at YSU is due to the support of existing facilities and infrastructure. However, there are still some obstacles in the implementation of character education at YSU, including a large number of students from different backgrounds, the absence of the same commitment about character education from YSU residents, and the absence of strict regulations and insufficient funds to oversee the implementation of character education at YSU.
