Ajaran moral dalam Serat Wedhatama dalam rangka pembentukan pekerti bangsa

Abstract

This research describe about Serat Wedhatama that written by Kangjeng Gust Pangeran Adipati Arya Mangkunegara IV. That book contains high ethical value and estheticteachings, this book coverted with beautiful language. Further, as a Javanese poet, Mangkunegara VI placingthe religioustheory as a mean to educate their children or mardisiwi so that children will have gracious heart and nobleminded as written in the rhyme kang tumrap neng tanah Jawa, agama ageming aji. Human's life is surrounded by rules that govern their behavior. The norms demonstrate how people should good behaviours in their community. The Javanese people use life guidance which taken from the valuable piwulang, inherited from one generation to another. Review of ethics is very important to balance the progress ofscience and technology.
