Pengaruh Persepsi Orang Tua terhadap Kesiapan Bersekolah Anak Usia 5-6 Tahun di Samarinda

Abstract


Abstrak: Persepsi orang tua mempengaruhi kesiapan bersekolah anak khususnya pada kemampuan pengendalian diri, perkembangan diri dan sosial, perkembangan bahasa dan literasi serta perkembangan matematika. Penelitian Ex-Post Facto ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kesiapan bersekolah anak TK Usia 5-6 tahun yang memiliki orang tua dengan persepsi tinggi dan persepsi rendah di Kecamatan Samarinda Ulu Kota Samarinda Kalimantan Timur. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini bersifat ex-post facto dengan desain faktorial 2x3. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini adalah Stratified random sampling dengan cara mengelompokkan TK menjadi 3 karakteristik yaitu TK Negeri, TK Swasta Reguler, dan TK Swasta berbasis agama, dan dari masing-masing  kelompok karakteristik tersebut, terpilihlah 1 TK Negeri, 4 TK Swasta Reguler, dan 7 TK Swasta berbasis agama. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melaui penyebaran 134 kuesioner kepada orang tua untuk data persepsi dan kepada guru untuk kesiapan bersekolah sebanyak 134 kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kesiapan bersekolah anak usia 5-6 tahun antara anak dengan persepsi orang tua tinggi dan anak dengan persepsi orang tua rendah. Peneliti selanjutnya dapat mengadakan penelitian lanjutan tentang variabel lain yang dapat mempengaruhi kesiapan bersekolah anak, contohnya pendidikan orang tua dan gender anak.

The Influence of Parents' Perceptions on School Readiness for Children aged 5-6 Years in Samarinda

Abstract: Parental perceptions affect children's school readiness, especially in self regulation ability, self and social development, languange and literacy development and mathematical development. This Ex-Post Facto study aims to determine the differences of school readiness for children aged 5-6 years old who have parents with high perceptions and low perceptions in Samarinda Ulu District, Samarinda City, East Kalimantan. The method used in this study is ex-post facto with a 2x3 facto design.The sampling technique in this study was stratified random sampling by grouping TK into 3 characteristics, namely State Kindergarten, Regular Private Kindergarten, and Religion-based Private Kindergarten, and from each group of these characteristics, 1 state kindergarten, 4 regular private kindergartens, and 7 religious-based private kindergartens were selected. The data collection technique was carried out by distributing 134 questionnaires to parents for perception data and 134 questionnaires to teachers for school readiness data. The results showed that there were differences in school readiness for children aged 5-6 years between children with high parental perceptions and children with low parental perceptions. The next researcher can conduct further research on other variables that can affect children's school readiness, for example parental education and children's gender.
