KEPEMIMPINAN BERKARAKTER SEBAGAI MODEL PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER
Abstract
Abstrak: Indonesia sangat kaya dengan budaya. Salah satu budaya Indonesia adalah cenderung patnernalistik. Yunior menghormati senior atau orang yang dituakan. Pemimpin sebagai senior disegani bawahan. Pemimpin menjadi teladan bagi bawahan karena itu ia harus mampu memberi keteladanan untuk dicontoh bawahannya. Kepemimpinan yang berkarakter memiliki empat sifat utama: memiliki sifat jujur, memandang jauh ke depan, membei inspirasi, dan cakap. Kombinasi keempat sifat tersebut membentuk kredibitas. Pemimpin yang kredibel dapat dipercaya. Esensi kepemimpinan adalah kepercayaan. Cara melakukan kepemimpinan berkarakter adalah dengan melakukan keteladanan secara nyata kepada bawahan sehingga mereka terpengaruh untuk melakukannya. Setelah bawahan melakukannya berarti kepemimpinan berkarakter berfungsi sebagai sarana pendidikan karakter bagi bawahannya.

LEADERSHIP WITH CHARACTER AS A MODEL FOR CHARACTER EDUCATION
Abstract: Indonesia is rich with culture. One of the Indonesia cultures is a paternalistic tendency. The young respect the old or those considered seniors. Leaders as seniors are respected by the subordinates. Leaders are examples for the subordinates; therefore, they must be able to become models for their subordinates. Leadership with character has four main traits: honest, futuristic, inspirational, and capable. The combination of these four traits build the credibility. A credible leader can be trusted. The essence of leadership is trust. Implementing the leadership with character is by providing real examples for the subordinates so that they are inspired to model the given examples. When the subordinates have modeled their leader, the leadership with character has functioned as a means of character education for the subordinates.
