KARAKTERISTIK PERILAKU KEPEMIMPINAN KEPALA SEKOLAH DAN BUDAYA SEKOLAH DI SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract


Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik perilaku kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan budaya sekolah di SD Negeri Purwosari Kulon dan SD Negeri Mangkubumen Lor No 15 Kecamatan Lawean Kota Surakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan bentuk studi kasus.  Subjek penelitiannya yaitu kepala sekolah dan guru. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan model interaktif. Hasil penelitian bahwa: (1) karakteristik perilaku kepemimpinan kepala sekolah di SD Negeri Purwosari Kulon antara lain (a) memberi keteladanan; (b) longgar, mempertimbangkan senioritas dan perasaan bawahan; (c) pesimis; dan (d) pasrah. Budaya sekolah yang berkembang yaitu budaya: salatberjamaah dan menjaga kebersihan sekolah, meremehkan aturan, formalitas, malas membaca, dan pembelajaran yang lesu; (2) karakteristik perilaku kepemimpinan kepala sekolah di SD Negeri Mangkubumen Lor No.15 antara lain (a) memberi keteladanan; (b) tegas; (c) optimis dan bersemangat; (d) bijaksana; (e) rendah hati; (f) bersahabat. Budaya sekolah yang berkembang yaitu disiplin, memberi salam dan berjabat tangan, loyalitas, salat berjamaah, menjaga kebersihan, efisien/menghargai waktu, semangat menjalankan tugas dan belajar, bekerja sama, saling menghormati, saling mengingatkan, kompak, saling percaya, rukun/akrab, bertanggung jawab, membaca, memberi penghargaan, berprestasi, dan profesionalitas.

 

Kata kunci: perilaku, kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, dan budaya sekolah.

 

CHARACTERISTICS OF LEADERSHIP BEHAVIOR OF HEADMASTER AND SCHOOL CULTURE IN PRIMARY SCHOOL

 

Abstract: This study aims to determine the characteristics of leadership behavior of headmaster and school culture in primary school of Purwosari Kulon and primary school Mangkubumen Lor No 15, District of Lawean, Surakarta City. This study uses a qualitative research with case study type. The subjects were headmasters and teachers. The data were collected with observation, interview, and documentation. The research concludes that: (1) Characteristics of leadership behavior of headmaster at primary school of Purwosari Kulon include (a) providing exemplary acts; (b) a loose, considering seniority and subordinate feelings; (c) pessimistic; and (d) resignation. The developed school cultures are the culture of praying together and maintaining cleanliness of the school, underestimating the rules, formalities, bad reading interest, and lethargic learning; (2) Characteristics of leadership behavior of headmaster at primary school of Mangkubumen Lor 15 include (a) providing exemplary acts; (b) firmed; (c) optimistic and vibrant; (d) wise; (e) humble; and (f) friendly. The developed school cultures are discipline, greeting and shaking hands, loyalty, praying, keeping clean, efficient/appreciating the time, the spirit of duty and learning, cooperation, mutual respect, mutual remind, compact, mutual trust, harmonious/familiar, responsible, reading, giving rewards, achievement, and professionalism.
