INTEGRASI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DALAM PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS INTERKULTURAL

Abstract


Abstrak: Pendidikan karakter sudah dicetuskan pemerintah dan menjadi pengarusutamaan di berbagai level pendidikan. Bagi lembaga pendidikan tinggi yang menghasilkan calon guru, pendidikan karakter mendesak untuk dijadikan sebagai sebuah gerakan bersama dan berkelanjutan. Program dan isu pendidikan karakter harus menyentuh semua civitas akdemika agar diperoleh memunyai kompetensi karakter berupa moral knowing, moral feeling, dan moral action. Pendidikan karakter dapat dilaksanakan melalui pengintegrasian dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa asing (Jerman). Upaya pengintegrasian tersebut salah satunya melalui metode pembelajaran berbasis interkultural. Dengan proses pembelajaran berbasis interkultural diharapkan mahasiswa memunyai kompetensi interkultural (interkulturelle competenzen). Kompetensi itulah yang menjadi bekal untuk melakukan adaptasi dan komunikasi antar budaya dengan tetap beridentitas dan berkarakter keindonesiaan.

THE INTEGRATION OF CHARACTER EDUCATION IN THE TEACHING AND LEARNING OF INTERCULTURE-BASED
Abstract : Character education has been initiated by the government and become the mainstream in various levels of education. For higher education institutions educating prospective teachers, character education should be made collective and sustained efforts. Programs and issues of character education must concern all civitas academica so that they possess character competence in the forms of moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. Character education can be conducted through its integration in the teaching and learning process of a foreign language (German). One of the modes of integration is through the interculture-based teaching and learning. With such a mode, the students are expected to gain intercultural competence (interculturelle competenzen). It is this competence that will become the basis for intercultural adaptation and communication while maintaining the Indonesian identity and character.
