Abstract

Analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of online learning during the covid-19 pandemic

Abstract: Online is currently a lesson that is often used by lecturers during the COVID-19 pandemic, but it is not known accurately about the advantages and disadvantages for the physical education learning process at the university level. The type of approach in this research is qualitative. Participation in this study was PJKR students (n = 15, 10 male, 5 female) from Suryakancana University. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews via WhatsApp and zoom meetings. The aspects that were asked in the interview were: do PJKR students have the facilities and infrastructure to carry out online learning, whether the implementation of online learning can break the chain of spreading COVID-19 among PJKR students and how the perceptions of PJKR students about online learning. The research data analysis was carried out in three stages, namely collecting data/information, classifying the results of the interviews and making conclusions. The results of the interview showed that PJKR students from level I to IV on average had facilities and infrastructure, such as smartphones and laptops to carry out online learning, online learning is an effective way to break the COVID-19 chain among students and lecturers and online learning in physical education courses has both advantages and disadvantages when used in the COVID-19 era. Thus online learning can facilitate learning without direct contact between students and lecturers and can be done anytime and anywhere so that it can be a reference and information for lecturers to carry out the physical education learning process.
