Focus and Scope

Epistema is a showcase of original and scrupulously conducted research in educational technology. The scope includes curriculum development & course design, innovation in learning, technology in learning, digital technology in education, evaluation of technology application in education and etc. in addition, other studies that related to Educational Technology can also be published in this journal.

Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts are examined by the editorial staff. Those manuscripts that appeared to be inappropriate to journal criteria are rejected promptly without external review. Potential manuscripts are sent for blind review to two reviewers. The editors then make a decision based on the reviewers's recommendation from among several possibilities: rejected, require major revision, need minor revision, or accepted.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Journal History

Epistema is an open-access, reviewed research journal published by the Department of Curriculum and Educational Technology, Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. It is a continuation of Majalah Ilmiah Pembelajaran (ISSN 0216-7999) (E-ISSN 27238199), published since 2004. The first edition of Epistema will be published in May 2020.
