Abstract

It is not avoidable that today's human life cannot
be separated from the need for electric energy. Sri
Soewasti Soesanto (1996: 6) states that many studies
have shown the effects of the electromagnetic field
caused by electrical equipment on human health in the
form of leukemia, brain cancer, and barrenness. Because
there is such an indication that the radiation of
the electromagnetic field is dangerous for human health,
preventive measures have, therefore, to be taken to reduce
the negative effects by avoiding direct contact with
the source of radiation, by providing a protective cover
appropriate with the kind of radiation, by putting as
far a distance as possible between the body and the
source of radiation, by shortening the period of work
using the source of radiation, and so on.
