IMPLEMENTASI LIFE SKILLPADA PEMBELAJARAN KIMIA BAHANADITIF

Abstract


According to Human Development Index (HOI), in the matterof
quality in education~ Indonesia is ranked the l02nd among
the 106 countries surveyed. Even now dissatisfaction is still felt
at all educational levels. Universities are still incaRable of producing
graduates r~ady for' th~ job market and the ~l'obal competition.
Students are not quite dble to link or relate one academic
subject to another and even less able to apply in real life what'
they learn from the subjects. Therefore, they should be equipped
with subjects based on life skills.
Additive Substance Chemistry is one of the subjects taught
in the Chemistry Course Program of the Department of
Chemistry Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Physical
Sciences,State University of Yogyakarta. Its materials are
based on society's actual.needsand presented in. the form
of topics and sub-topics of ~aterials providing . knowledge of
additive. substance chemistry ..and. class assignments enabling
students to ap,ply it on various life skills. The teaching, process
should be motivating so that creative ideas will come from
students.
