Quality Analysis of Final Examination Questions in Basic Mechanical Engineering for Grade X at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta

Abstract

The questions of the End of Semester Assessment of Basic Mechanical Engineering subjects at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta have not been analyzed for quality so that the items are not known for their feasibility. This study aims to determine the quality of the End of Odd Semester Assessment questions of the Basics of Mechanical Engineering class X SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta in the 2023/2024 school year in terms of (1) validity; (2) reliability; (3) difficulty level; (4) differentiating power; (5) effectiveness of the checker; and (6) overall aspects. This research uses quantitative descriptive method. The results of the analysis showed that (1) 60% of the questions were declared valid and 40% of the questions were invalid; (2) the reliability of the questions was in the high category; (3) the level of difficulty of good questions was 65% and 35% was declared poor; (4) 82.5% of the questions had high differentiating power and 17.5% of the questions had low differentiating power; (5) the effectiveness of the 92.5% functioning triggers and the 7.5% not functioning well; (6) the results of the overall analysis of the questions show that 35% of the questions are in the good category so they can be reused as an evaluation tool, 40% of the questions are in the fair category so improvements need to be made to the missing aspects, and 25% of the questions are in the bad category so they must be discarded and replaced with new questions.
