Abstract

Vocational school students who are oriented towards practical learning will definitely feel very bored when they are required to do theoretical learning, especially when studying independently using modules. In addition, the block system is implemented which requires students to study one subject for one whole week. Therefore, research was conducted to determine the implementation, results, driving factors and inhibiting factors that influence the use of aluminum metal casting modules in the block system at SMK Negeri 1 Klego. The results of the research were carried out using descriptive statistical analysis methods, namely the metal casting module was used at every learning meeting as a learning reference. The results of the students' casting practice showed a good score, namely 87.8. The driving factors for using casting modules are the enthusiasm and physical condition of students, adequate practice facilities, book-shaped modules and variations in teacher learning methods. Inhibiting factors in using metal casting modules include students' difficulties when studying independently, file-shaped modules, and inadequate learning facilities.
