Implementation of Occupational Safety and Health Management System in the Machining Workshop of Vocational High School

Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health is one form of effort to create a safe and healthy workplace, so that it can protect against work accidents and can increase work efficiency and productivity. K3 knowledge taught in schools aims to maintain occupational safety and health when students practice in school workshops or work in the industrial world. This study aims to determine the level of success of the implementation of the occupational safety and health management system in the SMK Negeri 2 Klaten Machining Workshop and to determine the obstacles in the implementation of the occupational safety and health management system in the SMK Negeri 2 Klaten Machining Workshop. This study uses a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were the head of the Machining Engineering department, the machining workshop coordinator and the machining workshop technician. The data collection techniques used were questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the occupational safety and health management system in the SMK Negeri 2 Klaten Machining Workshop had an achievement of 46.6% so that it was included in the less good criteria, obstacles that influenced the implementation of the occupational safety and health management system in the SMK Negeri 2 Klaten Machining Workshop included the lack of awareness of students about the importance of K3, minimal documentation in the machining workshop and the absence of a special team handling K3 in the SMK Negeri 2 Klaten Machining Workshop.
