Correlation of Digital Literacy with 2D CAD Features Mastery and Student Drawing Achievement

Abstract

Development of digital technology can now create distractions in the implementation of digital literacy. Majority of digital media users are lack of critical nature. This study aims to investigate the level of students' digital literacy skills; investigate correlation of digital literacy with students' mastery of 2D CAD software features; and investigate correlation of digital literacy with achievement of manufacturing engineering drawings of grade XI students majoring in Mechanical Engineering at SMK N 2 Yogyakarta. This research uses descriptive associative methods with quantitative approach. Research population included all XI grade students majoring in Mechanical Engineering with total of 79 research samples from XI TP1, TP2 and TP3 classes. Research data was collected by distributing questionnaire statements and archival documentation of grades. The results of analysis show that students' digital literacy level is in moderate category. There is a significant positive correlation between digital literacy and mastery of 2D CAD software features in moderate correlation level. There is a significant positive correlation between digital literacy and students' manufacturing engineering drawing achievement at low correlation level.
